What a crazy week I had! I had so many appointments and seemed to never be home. I stayed home yesterday and that was such a blessing, I can't even describe it! I'm really a "home-body" and just love being in my home.
Tuesday, I went to my Endocrinologist. It was time for my yearly ultra-sound to see if there is any cancer in my lymph nodes from when I had thyroid cancer in 2005. My oldest son went with me and we both agree that we thought for sure the tech had found something. She kept going to this one area and highlighting it and saying "hmm" alot. I looked over at one point and saw a lymph node with white inside and though, "Well, this is it. I have cancer again." My doctor came in and looked at everything and did some scanning on his own and said everything looked great! He didn't see anything suspicious and the tech said she thought everything looked good, too. Okay . . .so what was all the stuff making my son and I think for sure the cancer was back? She was a different tech than I usually have and so I guess that's just her manner. In any case, I was never so glad to have the doctor come in and check himself and tell me there's not anything to be concerned about. In fact, I don't have to go back for a year! That's excellent news as I'm usually in there at least every 3 months. I'll only have to go if I need to adjust my meds or something like that. Praise God - no cancer!!
While I was in the city, I went to a counted cross stitch store I'd never been to. Oh my goodness!!!! There were so many wonderful samples on the walls and so many patterns, kits and books. I'm telling you - I was just totally confused!! I found some wonderful little patterns that have scripture on them and just love them. They will work up quickly, but the thread is a beautiful, hand dyed thread with variations in it that makes the piece really pretty. She had a couple of samples she had done and I fell in love with them. She told me that she loves to stitch things with the Word of God as they just reinforce it in her heart. I thought that was so true and am so excited about these new pieces. It's getting too warm for me to crochet much with yarn, so now I'll start working on my needlework again. I have several Christmas felt pieces I want to finish for this Christmas, too, so I'll have plenty to work on!
Thursday, we went across the mountain to the next litle town so my son could go to the Podiatrist. He's had a horrible, horrible in-grown toenail that needed to be taken care of. The doctor had absolutely no bedside manner and I give my son a lot of credit for not completely running from the room screaming. The doctor gave him a shot to numb the toe, but didn't numb the skin before jabbing him with that long needle. Then, the toe was numb, but not completely, when he started doing his thing. I don't think it exactly hurt my son, but he could feel everything and it was very uncomfortable for him. He had some pain that day and yesterday, but today it's feeling better. I hope we don't ever have to go to that doctor again!
I'm feeling rested, finally, and thank you all so much for your kind comments and prayers! They are working!!
Have a wonderful and blessed Sunday!
God bless you - Julie |
