Hubby went in for his colonoscopy and the scope of his esophagus today and all looks good. The doctor feels that he can control the sluggishness hubby is having with a pill. Oh, if that is true, what a blessing that will be!! He did really well with the procedure and we're so glad that another hurdle has been crossed in the quest for feeling better! I don't think we have another major doctor thing coming up any time soon, and I'm SO very thankful!!!
My sister had her knee operation today and called me from the recovery room to say she was doing well. I'm so thankful! We were and continue to pray for her recovery. She's had such pain with her knees - we're praying that getting both of them operated on so close together will give her some relief! Praise God she came through the surgery so well!
We had to go to the next little town for the procedure, so we stopped and saw our old Pastor. He's such a great guy and we miss him and his wife so much as our Pastor. This is the church that went through a division and it was SO upsetting. We love that we still get to see them once in a while and share our love for the Lord together.
We then went to our favorite pizza place. I have to say, we were little pigs there and ordered enough to bring home for at least another meal. We don't get over there very often anymore since we don't drive over for church every Sunday.
I'm so thrilled that our cherry and pear tree appear to have little fruit on them this year. In past years, either the buds got blown off or we had a freeze that damaged the flowers. This year, we actually have the starting of fruit and I'm so excited. Now we'll just have to protect our fruit from the birds!!
Speaking of birds, I put my hummingbird feeder out last week and I'm so thrilled with all the little hummers that are coming by. We are seeing these
and these
Aren't they wonderful? I'm seeing more this year than I've ever seen. I'm going to try and take some pictures myself at the feeder as they let you get quite close. I just love birds and especially Hummingbirds!
Gotta go. My SUNS basketball team is playing. GO SUNS!!!
God bless you ~ Julie
Update: Don't forget to go and check out Marsha's Birthday Bash! The link is below.
Hi Julie, thanks for your comment re my exercising. The hardest part of all is just getting started! I have put it off for ages because I have not felt comfortable leaving my kids alone... but my oldest is 13 and can handle things for a short time. That does not excuse me for not exercising indoors all this time! In fact, I may have to resort to that. It's getting hot in that direct morning sun. Where are you located, fellow Arizonian? (You can PM me if you want.)
Sally
I'm so glad the scope went well! Every hurdle crossed is such a huge blessing. Great news about your sister too. My heart goes out to her too-- I can't even imagine the surgery and recovery time-- ouch!
I really need to put a hummingbird feeder out. Especially since we spent most of the day sweating outside planting flowers and shrubs and tilling and pretty much working too hard. But it was so worth it!
I will still pray for hubby and sis. It is hard to have that much going on. Hope your doing well. I just wanted to drop in and let you know I was thinking of you.
Hugs,
Christy
I am a homeschooling Mom who wants to be more like Jesus and less like me! I have been homeschooling for 9 years and am savoring the last 2 1/2 years I have left of this incredible homeschooling journey. My prayer is that I will be a blessing to others in this life and to our Lord, Jesus Christ.
