Thoughtful Motherhood - Help a Fat Girl Choose a Flattering Picture

Nov. 28, 2007 - Help a Fat Girl Choose a Flattering Picture
Posted in Writing

I've been in a frenzy all afternoon over a picture. The article that I was working on yesterday will be published in the December issue of a local magazine!!!  I am thrilled....except....I have to provide a picture to go with my byline.

I thought that my avatar picture was just too "edited" looking, plus its too close up.  The first two are the originals that I posted for a vote.  Then, I found a few more, and got busy with some editing software.  Hey, a fat girl with forehead wrinkles needs all the help she can get!  So, now there are four to vote from.

Leave a comment please and tell me which one you like.

#1 - School Marm

#2 - Hi, I'm trying too hard to look good!

#3 - Edited like crazy to soften the skin and get rid of that forehead wrinkle.  It didn't work!

#4 Black & White version

Black and white pictures are *always* more flattering - for everybody!

Motherjoy-

I miss seeing you 'round the shed. One thing that always struck me about you was how often you put yourself down. It grieves me that you think of yourself and speak of yourself so poorly. If the good Lord had wanted us all to be perfectly skinny he would have made us all that way. I'm built more like you and sure, I need to lose some weight, but I still think that I am okay the way I am (most of the time!). Do you think God made a mistake when he designed you? Certainly not! Be encouraged- you are far, far lovelier than you think you are.

And, by the way, I like #4 as well. :)

Well, first things first. You look beautiful in all four pictures. From Marm to fully software version one;) With that said =) I love the black and white one. I have always been partial to black and white photos.

I like the last one, the b&w, because your eyes are simply stunning in that shot.

About Me

I'm an almost ordinary mom. I'm a bit quirky in my tendency toward conspiracy theory and activism. I shout at the tv, which drives my hubby crazy. I was once a single mom of one son and God redeemed me with an amazing husband who loved us both. Later, God took my barren womb and knit together three little men in two and half years, and then shocked the stuff out of us knitting together a little lady. This blog is totally random, following the trends that only occur in my mind. My biggest aim is to live my life more joyfully and more thoughtfully.
