Thoughtful Motherhood

Morning Routines

My husband must like morning people. Of course, I am not one of those. I require at least 20 minutes after waking to lay in bed, stretch, and 'think' about getting up. I have to mentally prepare myself to actually get out of bed. Not to mention the physical ailments of pregnancy. My back doesn't work in the morning, so without the proper stretching, I walk like a  deformed-French-bell-ringer for the first hour of my day. Forget making the bed...I don't have any strength in my hands that early.

Back to my husband. This morning he jumps out of his shower, all perky and cheery, and tells me to get out of bed so he can make it. I appreciate the thought, after all he's only trying to help me with this week's goal of waking before the kids do. However, being forcebly required to pop out of bed upon waking and participate in the ridiculous ritual of bed-making is akin to Chinese-water-torture. I don't know what's wrong with that man.

HOwever, it was nice to have a few minutes to read my devotions,  check email, and write this blog post before the hooligans wake up and attack me. Haha...now I can go on the offensive and attack the little monsters myself! Thanks, hubbby.

Well, "Thoughtful Mother" I have to tell you I loved your blog! I am new to blogging, only about two weeks...but I can't stop :0)

We have been traveling for almost a year with my hubby's job, and now are getting ready to actually be home (for another contract he's taking...anyway). I am very inspired by your once a month cooking day and the zip lock bag freezer storage. I will certainly be checking out your tips. My joke always is, now I have this family and I have to learn how to feed them! (We've been blessed to be able to live off of Olive Garden during our travels...but now reality is setting back it, LOL) I also love your testimony of God blessing you with a husband and LOTS of babies! Why to go GOD! God Bless you and yours...

I love mornings too.....

the peace and quiet of mornings is soooooo wonderful and it's so awesome to be up and ready for my husband and little charges ...that was the only part of the book I sent you that I couldn't relate to....Jesus got up early to be with His Father...even after being awake late into the night ministering. I can't imagine not having that time with Him early b/f the sun is up...it's the only time I can spend in quiet my whole day...every other literal second I am needed by either my hubby or my children and when I am being strengthened each morning through the reading and meditating of God's Word I have the strength to cheerfully meet those needs. I remember the days of just waking up on the fly and barely making it through my days. I was tired, irritable , and impatient.
God will totally bless your desire to get up b/f your children are....to the point where once you're in a good habit you'll feel you're morning is incomplete without that special time in His presence. Love you!
