The Downsides of the ProLife Movement

Here's a very interesting letter to Sarah Palin by National Advocates for Pregnant Women. It shows the flipside of the prolife debate. Read it and tell me what you think.

We cannot arbitrate morality.

This is where depravity leads because we cannot even in our greatest laws maintain wholesome morality. Even as advanced in achievements, we cannot recognize nor come to the same likemindedness about children...the fruit of the womb...a blessing from the Lord. Society always demonstrates its depravity by its treatment or lack thereof of the child. Now I am not speaking of child worship that is another confusion at the other end. Both are destructive one right at the womb the other destroying the soul and mind. Arbitration can and will never replace the commandments of the Lord Do not kill, children obey your parents, parents teach your children (not the state) do not commit adultery, I am the Lord your God thou shalt have no other Gods before me, there is no way that law will replace the conviction of the Holy Spirit so as to cause the tragedys and down right atrocities read in the article you posted. I am persuaded to believe that as time moves on and we need man to give us rights that God already has well this world belongs to Satan and his name is also destroyer. So we can talk all we like about what can we do and we may stall for awhile a shadow of things to come eventually. It is already here in other countries like China to start with.

We really cannot look to the world to mandate righteous judgements and we decieve ourselvves to believe a sinful world can somehow rule with perfect judgement.

This is what the Lord says

(Philpot, "The Blessedness of Trusting in the Lord" 1869)

This is what the Lord says—"Cursed is the one who
trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength
and whose heart turns away from the Lord." Jer. 17:5

The Lord here does not lay down a man's moral
or immoral character as a test of salvation.
He does not say, "Cursed is . . .
the thief,
the adulterer,
the extortioner,
the murderer,
the man that lives in open profanity."

He puts all that aside, and fixes His eye and lays
His hand upon one mark—which may exist with the
greatest morality and with the highest profession
of religion.

"I will tell you," the Lord says, "who are under My
curse—the person who trusts in man—who depends
on flesh for his strength—and in so doing, his heart
turns away from Me."

This is what the Lord says—"Cursed is the one who
trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength
and whose heart turns away from the Lord." Jer. 17:5

This is interesting, and thought provoking. I think if we follow God and common sense, then that is moral. My waters broke and I waited until I got regular contractions, when they did not come I went in to hospital. We prayed and labour started. We have allways followed the Lord, even when I was a month late. They are trying to sidetrack from the idea that abortion is murder.
