Thoughtful Motherhood

Why Do Women Like Shoes?

Why do women like shoes? I'm not sure. I hate shoes. And socks.

A minute ago, there was a car commercial on tv. A lady was sitting in her car and all of sudden shoes started raining from the sky. The lady got out of the car and started grabbing shoes by the armful and tossing them into her trunk. Most women watching would be thinking "Oh, that would be awesome, all the shoes I could want."

Not me. The first thing I thought was "Yeah right. She has to find the match to each of those shoes."

See, that's how I roll. Too practical. That's why I don't like shoes and socks...because there are two of them. Do you know how hard it is to keep track of shoes and socks for four/five kids? I always struggled with finding one but not the other.  That's why my kids have one pair of shoes. Yep. One.

Sandals in the spring and summer.

Tennis shoes in the fall and winter.

They wear them to church and to play.

I have five pairs of shoes. But since March I have exclusively worn ONE pair of shoes.

YEP. ONE. Since March.

I wear these to chuch, with skirts, with jeans, to walk around the neighborhood. They are cute and feminine but supportive like tennis shoes. So, no, I can't stand bunches of shoes.

Oh....how times do change. I remember when you would rock some of the funkiest shoes - your wedding shoes for example. But, alas five (six including dear BIL) sets of shoes to keep up with would take the fun out of the variety available. I myself am having to resign to the fact that no more high sexy heels for me...(who decided heels were sexy) as I will be rockin' my flats with Ben and Arny at my back. Love you.

I, for one, would *love* to know the brand and name (or where you got them) of these shoes. I'm always on the lookout for comfy, SUPPORTIVE, feminine shoes - and I too would love to simply have ONE pair of shoes for myself.

So please do, share!!

As someone who has worked for a chiropractor/natural medicine doctor I would recommend for you the adult at least 2 pairs to alternate because you do wear into the sole of the shoe and this can cause knee.hip, and back problems.

just food for thought

I have a dress shoe
a sandal
a workout shoe
and a regular wear tennis shoe

Shoes =)

Those are nice shoes. Very pretty.

Let's see, I have a pair of shoes for the house (can't stand wearing the same shoes from outside in the house. Especially when my kiddos were babies) Going out shes and a pair of sandals. Can't forget a pair of running shoes that I wear on AWANA night (just in case I have to be part of a game.) that's about it.

Sounds like we both don't care for lots of shoes. Who has time when your a mom ;)

Blessings,
Linda<><
