Funky Cake

This was a last minute cake, as you can probably tell. The colors ended up darker than I anticipated. I was really wanting to do a paisley pattern when I made the colors, but I couldn't find paisley cutters locally. And since I didn't have time to order online,  I did this. The fondant was too soft, so you can see more 'bumps' than normal. Oh well.

No, I can't tell.

No! I can't tell this was last minute. There is no way I can tell this is last minute. It looks absolutely beautiful to me. You should see my cakes - and I wouldn't even classify them as last minute - but they look messy. This looks BEAUTIFUL.

beautiful

What kind of cake did you use. It really looks beautiful. My family and I love to watch the cake show on the Food Network.

I've always used boxed cake. I should try something fancier, but I haven't.

You can add more eggs and sour cream to a box cake and make it yummy (sort of like pound cake), but I haven't done that either. I think its supposed to make the cake firmer, so it stands up to the fondant.

I thought the cake was PERFECT!!! The colors were great. It was very yummy too,,, I had an extra big piece. My hips were not to happy about it, but my taste buds were in heaven!
