Thoughtful Motherhood

Welcome to Communism, Folks

And so it begans. Our country is on a downward spiral and I don't think we can stop it. This disgusts me and it disgusts God. We can't ignore His prinicples in the name of the economy.

Nancy Pelosi, a woman that I disagree with at every level, has stated that we should include funding for birth control  in the latest stimulus package. She says "contraception will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government."

I don't recall my children costing the government anything. My husband and I fund their housing, their education, and their healthcare. In fact, the government takes money that we could be spending on our own children's education and gives it to the public schools so that other children can be educated. And we still, spend more money on the education of our own children, because it is important to us.

If the government wants to cut spending, why don't they stop funding people's housing, education, and healthcare all together? At some point, people will grow up and start taking care of themselves and their children.  At some point, people will bond together and help one other in ways that they deem beneficial, without being forced to help others in ways that they are opposed to.

As long as the goverment is funding the lives of the people, then we can expect that the lives of the people will be controlled by the government. How long before the goverment puts a limit on how many childen families can have? When can we expect the brainwashing to begin? Just look at China...that is where we are headed.

Birth Control

This proposed legislation is not intended to control the number of children responsible people like you have. This is to control irresponsible people who have kids by being careless and then cannot care for them. Your children are not being funded by the government, but hundreds of thousands of others are because their parents cannot afford (or choose not to afford) to care for them. This is not the first step towards the government trying to control the population, it is the first step towards the government trying to cut down on the amount of people they support that should be supported by others. One thing Pelosi doesn't address however, is that you can provide birth control to people but you cannot make them use it responsibly or correctly!

Like I said in my post...the governments needs to stop trying to financially support people, children included.

People are only a burden in a welfare state.

In a free economy, people are never a burden.

Loss Of Freedom

So, totally with you.

And, who is to decide who is responsible and who isn't? Some individuals may have "good motives" in passing some of this kind of bad legislation, but when you take away freedom, it leaves the door wide open for corruption.
