Cades Cove Camping Trip

Here are some pictures we took while camping with my parents and brother in Cades Cove this past weekend. The camera was acting up so some of them might be fuzzy . Don't forget to hold your mouse over the pictures for info.

Black bear . Of course he would walk behind the tree as I snapped the picture *sigh*

Bedding down for the day.

bucks

This mushroom just caught my eye as we were walking through the woods.

Couldn't find this little guy in our Peterson's Insect fieldguide but I will search later and post what it is . it is some sort of fly of course who resembles a bumble bee. I think it may be some sort of robber fly.

Robin's nest above our campsite.

Hubby and I saw this one while on one of our early morning strolls together.

The green of these ferns really caught my eye.

After a storm passed though.

This is why they are called the Great Smoky Mountains.

Another storm rolling in.

Finally a post !

Here are some pictures of the baby mockingbirds.

This one is fuzzy but so cute.

Now they look like mockingbirds.

I was surprised to find a nest of titmice in our basketball goal post.

My parent's "snowball" bush.

Azealas in our garden.

Photo Overload

Ok, here are some photos taken from around our home and my parents home. Let me know if you enjoy these. Be sure to hold your mouse over each picture to read more about it.

Our mockingbird nest now has eggs!

We are lucky enough to have two caterpillar nests in our yard . These are some neat pictures.

Nest 1, in the front yard. Can you see the huge "ball" of them?

Nest 1 about a week later.

Nest 1.

Nest 2 , in the backyard.

Nest 2.

Mr. Robin coming out to eat after we mowed the yard.

Takeout for two!

My parent's resident chickadee.

Her brood of six. They hatched yesterday. I will try to get a picture of them.

 Pink azealas.

I took this picture at my Mom & Dad's. Look close at the flower on the left and you can see a little visitor.
