Homeschool Happenings
Ahhh, the classic science experiment if there ever was one: the erupting volcano! But ours wasn't just ANY volcano. No, ours is "Olympus Mons," the largest known volcano in the solar system which resides on the planet Mars!

E had watched M do this experiment 2 years ago and now it was her turn! She was so excited!!

Unlike M's former volcano, the addition of two drops of dishwashing soap kept the volcano erupting and oooooozzzzzing long after the vinegar had been poured. It was cool!

And even though she is a veteran volcano eruptor, M had to have her own turn, as well!

Here are a couple of photos I forgot to post on last week's entry from our trip to the local Christian radio station with our homeschool small group field trip.

The girls had a great time and were actually a bit "star-struck" as we saw the dj's in action that we had just been listening to in the car on the drive over!
Finally, just a couple more projects I completed this week:
Here is the hat I just sent my sweet sister-in-law, Lena. I don't know if she's gotten it yet... so if you see this, Lena, I hope you like it and, um, SURPRISE!

And here is a little altered Altoid tin I made to hold my little knitting things such as my stitch counters and needle tip protectors.

Sorry these are a bit blurry. I had to take them without the flash, because I kept getting a reflection of it from the varnish on the tin. I'm sure there's a way to resolve that, but I don't know it!

I love craft, because I love things that are beautiful and functional... and I love my little tin!
