Aug. 20, 2005 - Mom Support is AWESOME!

Wow. THe play has been sold out so instantly... they are doing an encore performance next Friday night (the 26th)

The kids are really getting tired of all the "going" though... so I'm actually glad that will be IT. We'll do another play later... but we're DEFINITELY ready to have a break for the moment!

ANyway ~ I had a mom's meeting/coffee break type thing this morning and met some new moms ~ who also do Konos. It was SOOOO nice to just get "out" and relax, talk and meet some new friends! I am So glad I got up early enough to go. What a blessing!

It was a small group, only four of us... but SUCH a blessing to me.  It is just so awesome to sit down and have a chat with other homeschool moms.  I was so needing some friends and support in my life, it seems some of my "old" friendships are not ending, but starting to wane... the ebb and flow of friendship.  Not a bad thing by any means, just a change for a time, differences in ages of kids, the periods of life, availability, etc.

It is so nice to meet people who have kids that are the same age as mine, to not only share thoughts, ideas and issues, but also for people for us all to become friends with.  I've very much had it on my heart to not only make friends for my kids, but myself and my family.  We all need support together, and I would like to also be a support to others as well.   It's very unnatural for me to think of myself as a "vetran" homeschooler or whatever, but then I talk to someone who is truly new to it ~ and realize that after HSing for over nine years, I do have a lot to give.  I am praying to have people come into my life who need that...
