Sep. 1, 2005 - The Little Red Hen

Thanks to a friend, I subscribed to www.enchantedlearning.com and got some little mini books and whatnot off of there.  The other day, while researchng things for our cooperation unit, I searched for "The Little Red Hen" for Abyni and Paris and came upon the exact some "book" and worksheets that I used all those years ago when first starting out with SPrite!  I printed them off... www.schoolexpress.com even though it isn't exactly what I would normally use now days, for sentimental value. 

When Sprite learned the Little red hen, I had actually made that into a unit study.  We studied wheat, she haelped grind some and learned to make homemade bread from scratch when she was 5:)  I still have photos of her covered in flour, reading her "easy reader" recipe and kneading a big ole pile o' dough:)

Awww....  although Paris and Abyni have already been helping make bread for a while now, I think I'll let them make a batch all by themselves this time ~ to go along with their story.

Anyway... off to veg for a bit before school!
