Sep. 3, 2005 - baby squirrels!

A woman from "Keepers of the Faith" group came by today. We got the hosue back in visitor condition by vacuuming and sweeping up right quick. The house was actually still fairly nice after Jaedin's party last week. I need to have events at my house regularly, it helps keep me accountable in the hosuekeeping dept! Of course it helps that the kids are mostly old enough to help keep things picked up!

Anyway, This woman needed help designing the aprons for the "Keepers of the Faith" meeting (a homeschool group she's starting) on Tuesday, and since I couldn't be there Tues, I offered to help her work out some "sample" aprons to take with her.

We got that all figured out, I drew up a simple sketch for the girls to trace on and color with fabric markers and paint. We cut out sponges for the rest of the design and the girls pretty much finished up their aprons.

The kids all hit it off... but the biggest hit by far was the BABY SQUIRRELS they brought! Their family has in one way or another rescued THREE orphaned squirrels and have been takng care of them with the help/advice of a wild anmal rescue place near their home.

I had never seen a baby squirrel before. They were so CUTE! Those long gangly looking legs and skinny tails. The kids were thrilled to pieces to get to hold the sqirrels and watch them being fed with an eye dropper. It was just so awesome:)

After they left, we went to WalMart for a desperately needed short shopping day... came home, the kids swam and we veged out! Yay I needed a nice relaxing day:)
