Sep. 16, 2005 - School Day, Body Systems & Memory Verse work

Today we had a bit of a late start since (A) Everyone was up laaate last night, (B) My mom called & needed to talk.... AND (c) then another friend called who really needed to talk.

The three middle kids were playing Monopoly together, so I let them play while I talked, Sprite started her reading for the day and Abyni played on the computer.

Then we did Bible... I did the white board memory verse thing where I erase one or two words at a time and have the kids take turns "reading" it until all the words are gone.  That really seems to work wonders for my kiddoes!

For science today we were learning about body systems.  We made tags for different organs and taped them onto Abyni & Paris (Paris was the digestive system, Abyni was a variety of other things... plus we labelled her other parts (arm, leg, nose, chin, cheek, neck, etc.) with a grease pencil:)  They had fun...

Then we sorted the tags (after removing them from the bodies) into "Pockets" for each body system... then played pictionary ~ body organ version... that was interesting!

The kids took turns labelling a few more parts of the big outline of Abyni that is on our wall... and that was about it for science!

Other stuff was the typical stuff, except I let the kids take turns playing the body systems game on http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/ and do their math using Might Math CDrom (that have been THE most awesome cdroms EVER!!!) that used up a little time without being stressful on tired little people.

Its Sprite's turn on the computer...  TTYL
