Oct. 10, 2005 - Our Day... field trip, etc.
Paris woke me at 3 or so this morning, she was throwing up. Once she settled, I put her to sleep on the couch and went back to bed.
Abyni came and crawled into our bed around 4...
The puppy woke me at 5:30 since she was locked in the kennel for the night, she really needed to go outside.
I came back in to Dh's alarm going off... still. He got up to get ready for work, and bring Kitty (the puppy) back in.
Paris was up throwing up again and then came and snuggled with Abyni and I in our bed.
THEN the alarm went off for me at 7:15, and I got up for the Oxley Nature Center trip for Scouts. We had all planned to go, but obviously Paris' sickness didn't need to be out and about. I decided to leave the girls home with Sprite.
Amazingly enough, the field trip went great. The boys are just SO enjoying scouts. I bought a family membership to the Nature center (only $15 for the year) and the boys went throught one of the trails with a docent who taught them all about the different trees and critters they saw around them. It was a nice time, the weather (although slightly chilly without a jacket) was actually just gorgeous. It felt so "fall" and was so wonderful.
The boys did their scouting activity, we bought their badges and we were on our way home.
The van (Dh put new brake pads on yesterday ~~ the last time was just over a year ago) Something got messed up though, because half way home, I could smell burning rubber. At first I thought it was just some smell from all the construction being done, but it was soon apparent that it was us. I stopped at the scout shop to get the boys the pack# patches that they still didn't have, and checked under the van for anything obvious. I could tell the smell was from there, but couldn't see anything smoking. We drove the rest of the way home, and I am hopng that Dh gets home in time to fix it, or figure out the deal.
Anyway, I spent the afternoon baking cheesecake, going over report assignemnets with the kids and sewing scout patches on. What a busy little day!
The boys have scouts tonight early and are doing a cookout with S'mores... yummy!
