Oct. 16, 2005 - Operation Christmas Child, BF's Annivesary Surprise!

Well, I'm finally getting around to posting about FRIDAY.

Woke up and I really had to get in gear and start baking Sugar cookies to take to our service project for "Operation Christmas Child"    was still not dressed, trying to wake up ~ and suddenly remembered that one of my best friends' Dh had called on Monday to see if I could babysit their three oldest kids (3-10) on Friday, while he takes her out for the weekend to a bed and breakfast for a SURPRISE 10th anniversary vacaton:)  Aww.... I had COMPLETELY forgotten.  Eek!

Just then, the doorbell rings.  Its them!  I answer the door in my jammies and mussed hair... and my friend is grinning ear to ear, giggling and jumping:)  It was SO sweet.

Anyway ~ we all came back in, Abyni helped me cut out the cookies, and I started baking away while the other kids all played outside.

We baked, had lunch and left to the church to wrap and pack boxes for the Operation Christmas Child.  The kids are SO excited to be able to give gifts to toher kids that need them.  They know what its like to not have much, and they know how wonderful it is to get presents from others (We've been blessed SO much by friends in the past when things were reeeeally tight financially)  We are really looking forward to filling our boxes.

Anyway ~ we had a nice time, the kids did a craft, wrapped boxes and decorated cookies.  The kids enjoyed having their friends over... and other than that, we dd absolutely no school work all day.  Sigh.  I know eventually I feel like things are in some semblance of organization... right??

Back to life...
