Oct. 19, 2005 - Lordy! Things sure get busy!
Anyway ~
We've just been busy lately. We are hosting another game/art night tomorrow night for the HS support group's Upper Elementary kids. THere are 45 signed up this time! Unfortunately, I am having a MAJOR hassle with my email... grrr. I have had to send out the same email with details and directions I don't know how many times, and still had people not get it. I hope everyone has now gotten what they need!
Anyway ~ We've had some good school days. Dh found some awesome education al math & Science cds at a garage sale ~ curriculum type middle & high school stuff. Yay! Sprite started with those today.
We've added a few more Greek words. Abyni jsut seems to really pick up that stuff so fast. Its amazing. We are having fun with it.
Spelling is going well too. We're doing "i before e" rules right now... I think after Christmas we'll try to get in two rules a week, but for now, its good that we've finally found something that works!
I've been reading "Raising a Left Brained Child in a Right Brain World" (or is is Right Brain in a left brain world? I think it might be) I need to read a book on short term memory loss... but I keep forgetting the ones that people recommend. Yes. I'm actually serious.
SOooooooOOOOo ~ Dh did science wtih the kids yesterday (YAY!) While I prepared for Art class with K.F. & J.F. and my older ones. We are learning the bascs of drawng, added a little of the basics of color, and then they go home with homework after briefly discussing that. Then we worked on our mosaics. Sprite is doing the most awesome mosaic! It is looking so cool! K.F. is doing one for a contest at her orthodonists office ~ it has a mosaic of a big smile showing braces... and inside it says, "Brace yourself for a Great Christmas!" Isn't that GREAT?? THese kids are just so amazing to me!
Paris and Abyni are loving gymnastics... they come home wound up, and always sleep well on Tuesday nights!
Tuesday night we went out for dinner and a cheap movie. We went to Golden Corral which had kids 12 and under for $1.99... then saw "Sky High" at the cheap theater for 50 cents a person. I love living in the land of cheap theaters again! We all enjoyed "Sky High" ~ I want Magenta's wardrobe... I loved the purples... Sprite loved the girl who had a green thumb:) We had a good time, and it was a good movie to see.
Anyway ~ I need to go help Paris with her art "homework" and Abyni with her workbook that she's suddenly decided to do... and play Phase ten Dice with Kainan...
Nighty night!
