Oct. 24, 2005 - Christmas is near!
Of course, first we have Abyni's birthday and Sprite's birthday as well!
I can't talk much about Sprite's birthday, because she may read this:) Abyni wants a rainbow surprise party. We've invited just a few of our close friends, so it can be a "party" without being a huge number of kids. She worked on invites today. She says she wants a surprise, but she HATES to BE surprised, so we're calling it a surprise, and going easy on the surprise idea.
I finished and "Tiger Lily" costume for Paris this weekend, and a lost boy costume for Jaedin our ot the leather scraps we got for Christmas a few years ago. They look really cool! I'm going to finish up Peter Pan (Kainan) and Wendy (Sprite) tonight I hope. I've been sewing up a storm, neat pillows for Sprite and Paris, and a blanket for Paris and Abyni. their room is going to look so cool.
We had a fairly normal, unevenftul school day today. For Bible time I prnted out their memory verse (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) and left blanks here and there for them to fill in. This is our first attempt at a long verse. In retrospect, it wasn't the best verse to start with... but it was in our Konos unit on the human body, so it was the first one that came up! It is so repetitive that it is hard to keep it straight.
Anyway ~ I found a couple of Christmas-gift making ideas today when I saw this
http://organizedchristmas.com/printable/showgallery.php/cat/504 Sprite and I thought these would be great discussion starters for our discussion times. (Lately, I've asked the kids questions as we are settling down to start school/lunch/whatever and they've really enjoyed it) Anyway, on their site they have these:http://organizedchristmas.com/article92.html Which are very much like things Sprite and I did for Christmas years ago. I'm looking forward to doing some activities for this year!
Anyway ~ off to finsh the sugar cookies for Jaedin's Bear Den tonight!
