Oct. 29, 2005 - CHEER barn party
One of the CHEER (support group) families had a "Hallelujah Barn Party" last night. I can honestly say we have not had so much fun as a family for a VERY long time.
It was SO much fun! So relaxing (for me) and just an awesome wonderful time for the kids. Even Dh had a good time!
First we met up with a couple of friends who came over to follow us out since it was way out in the boonies. The boys each went with one of their friends for the ride, and Sprite had a friend with her.
We arrived, and I felt like I was back in Iowa... Barns and hay bales... There was a horse in the barn, as well as several chickens and a "talkative" rooster. The kids and Dh were instantly mesmerized with the animals. Dh and Jaedin were walking around with chickens sitting on their arms for a while:)
Everyone had brought some snacks, all the kids were wearing costumes (I made our kids the Peter Pan cast ~ will post photos as soon as I have them!) and the adults all brought camping chars to sit around and talk while the kids played.
A couple of adults had arranged games to play for all the kids, contests, races and such, something for everyone. THey even had sack races (Abyni was pretty good at that) and tug-of-war. I got to just sit/stand and mingle... talk and fellowship that I soooooo desperately needed after my pretty much self induced seclusion lately!
It was a night full of laughter, excitement, bonding, meeting new friends... the kids were pink cheeked from fresh air, exercise and excitement... Dh mingled, played with the kids, came and talked with me and my friends... talked with other dad's that he met at a CHEER father daughter bowling event last Friday.
It was just THE BEST PARTY EVER!!!! Thank you to the wonderful Tackett's!!
I just feel so absolutely blessed that God has sent these wonderful women to me!
Whoo Hoo!!
