Nov. 23, 2005 - Yesterday was Sprite's Birthday

But since she'd had a party on the 11th (so as to not conflict with Thanksgiving), we didn't do a whole lot.  I took her to pick out a movie at the video store, and we stopped at Kum and Go on the way home so she could FINALLY use her coupons for free candy and a drink.  She was so thrilled as she's been wanting to go there for months and we just never think of it:)

I got a bunch of books at the library that we've been reading for school ~ to go along with our somewhat "unit" on love and generosity.  We haven't really been doing anything other than reading and discussion times in the midst of this move, but at least its something.  We're reading bios on Mother Theresa and Florence Nightingale;  The Gift of the Magi by O'Henry, King Midas... and our read-aloud is Romeo and Juliet.  We have plenty of opportunity to discuss real love and what it means to us.

Yesterday we set up Paris' Art desk, got the kitchen ALMOST all packed up, the counters emptied off, and the dishes caught up.  The boys started on their laundry day (the kids all get a "laundry day" once a week on their assigned day to do their own laundry.  The little girls will get help, of course) and I got a little bit more caught up from the OLD house.  We did make one trip to the store, and to the old house to get yet MORE stuff.  I can NOT believe how much STUFF we aquired in ONE year!  I mean, literally one year and one month ago, all our earthly possessions fit into a 40 ft BUS ~ WITH us in it too!!

Anyway ~ hoping for a bit more school time today, and hoping to get my bedroom and sitting room done for the most part.  We have a cool little storage area for Christmas presents that opens up into our sitting room (which we're thinking of calling The Sanctuary since the kids aren't allowed without invite:) and is storage under the stairs.  I'll be putting stuff in there today ~ for a little while anyway!

Well, I suppose I ought to get busy with my day!
