Jan. 20, 2006 - The Homeschool Blogger Poll

I'm doing this poll because I actually have some free time for once, with no energy to do much of anything about it. 

Poll Questions:

1. Why did you start a blog?
The first time I started was when we were living on the road, and I found it a good way to keep friends up to date without always "bugging" them with emails that I couldn't often answer. 

2. What did/do you hope to accomplish with your blogging?
As I said above, as well as just organizing my own thoughts, keeping track of things that went on in my life... and having them easily accesible.


3. Have you found that you don't post as much as you did when you started? 
I post a lot mroe, now that I have internet access in my home.

5. How important are comments to you?
They used to be really important to me, as I didn't have a lot of RL support, this was my main avenue for friendship.  Since I've moved to OK and have a good network of friends and support group, I feel the need for less confirmation & support online.  That, and I got burned so many times on livejournal with people taking offense at my routines, opinions and whatnot, I mostly post private entries there anyway... and here, well, I don't "know" anyone... and I'm fairly busy myself most of the time and don't comment much... so I don't expect anyone else to either.

6. Do you ever find yourself wishing people would not always leave comments that agree with you?

I find myself wishing people didn't post angry posts because they DON'T agree with me!:)  I certainly don't mind people agreeing or disagreeing... as long as they can be respectful.

7. Do you comment on other people's blogs a lot, sometimes, or very little?
I comment more on livejournal just because the format makes it so much easier to keep up with "conversations" I do post on HSblogger as well when I have had the free time to "explore" or read friends posts...

8. What determines why you don't post a comment on someone else's blog? 
If it just seems they aren't asking for any help/advice, or I just don't have much to say on a topic..

9. What determines why you do post a comment on someone else's blog? 
.... if I have something I feel is of interest to say, or want to tell someone they have inspired me in some way..



10. Do you have more than one blog? Where?
HSblogger for my Homeschooling mostly, and a few family posts...

Livejournal for my more personal "individual" stuff..


11. Do you read random blogs either off of random blogger or friends lists?
Not often.
