Potential & Kinetic energy as well as energy conservation were the topics today.  Each child came up with at least 5 ideas for conserving energy in "their" rooms.  Then Sprite and Paris took the ideas and made posters to hang in the rooms... as well as "Turn off the LIGHTS" signs to post above light switches.

 

The boys have been reeeeally bad about shutting off their lights all the time, so we've decided if they can't stop leaving them on allthe time, we're going to take the lightbulbs out of their room for 3 days... and hopefully they can remember to shut them off when they don't need them.

 

We also did math, reading, and played energy games and whatnot on the computer as well as doing multiplication table timed practices (we do the one near the bottom left "Math Facts") as well.

 

All the typical subjects were done by all... and homework assigned.  The kids all get an extra 30 minutes a day of math drills on the computer throughout the weekend, and will be expected to know their times tables through 12 "Like the backs of their hands" by Monday.  Then we'll continue with Mega Math.

 

Their other homework assignment is to do either A) A timeline page on an inventor we've learned about or disucssed, B) A book report, or presentation/project of some sort to tell about a book they have read in the past few months.

 

That's all the excitement for today... I need to get to MY homework of making up a memory verse test, Greek lesson plans, weekly lesson plan for everything else... and reserving any library things!
