Jan. 31, 2006 - School Today; practice, practice, practice
Today seemed to be a lot of practicing what we learned yesterday. Going over math problems and reviewing what needed to be done (Sprite and Jaedin) while Kainan practiced his multiplication facts on the computer... he got up to 39 problem correct in one minute ~ times tables to 12!
Anyway, so I think Sprite and Jaedin are on the right track.
Abyni actually read her verse out of Paris' Bible today! She only needed help with the word "succeed"!! I was so shocked. She has been able to read fairly well for a while, but it usually takes her a while to figure out any words that she doesn't see all the time. Today though, she was just flying through it. She read Psalm 20:4 "May he give you what your heart longs for. May he make all of your plans succeed." You'd have sworn she had been reading forever. We were all so proud of her. We've decided she's ready for her own "real" Bible (instead of just the easy reader-picture Bible).
We did a prayer for Purpose today, both relating to the verses we read, as well as copying it for copywork, and praying the prayer for daddy.
We did all the typical reading, history, etc. We pretty much skipped our Konos today since Paris and Abyni had to leave for gymnastics. I just had the older kids read a science related topic for 30 minutes.
That's all the excitement here for the day. No art class, since Kerra had a game today. I think I'll have the kids get out the paint for their chairs after I get back with the girls from gymnastics though. Looking at white-primer chairs in my kitchen is just wrong!:)
