You know how it always seems like WE are the ones doing all the work, until we're just too tired, and then our husbands pitch in? (OK, maybe you aren't like me :) or maybe your husband never pitches in.......but maybe you can relate.) I realized, last week, that I'm looking at it wrong.
Yes, there is always way too much work to go around.
Yes, Mike and I are always both tired.
BUT, if I were thinking as a part of a team, I would say, "I'm glad I have enough energy right now to do this." Later, I would see that, when my energy was too low, Mike would have enough energy to do something.
I've been looking at the energy/work pinball as a bad thing, when perhaps God is saying, "I'll give you just enough energy, between you, to get the most important things done." Maybe it's a good thing--not that we don't have enough time or energy to go around, but that one of us always seems to be able to muster what we need.
It's part of working as a team.
