Little Women

• Jul. 11, 2006 - For all those who think everyone else has it all together

This story is a bit embarassing, but I share it for the benefit of the many homeschooling moms who think everyone ELSE has it all put together.    Let me preface the story by saying that this will be my 8th year of homeschooling, and my kids are very bright.   I give lots of hs advice (hopefully good advice! :)  and I'm sure people look at me as someone who is generally together and knows what I'm doing.

OK, so what did I do?

I went off for a morning of errands and forgot my SHOES!!!!   :)

It's not quite as bad as it sounds, since there was actually a reason for this.  I had put some foot-lotion on, because of calluses, and put thick socks on over them.  I figured I could drive in my socks, and when I got there, I could take them off and put on my shoes.  I actually had my shoes in my hand, but must have put them down to pick up something else.   At any rate, I wandered around the doctor's office, restaurant (I went to breakfast with MIL), and eventually the grocery store, in my socks!  Finally, at the grocery store, I was able to buy a pair of flip-flops.

So, next time you worry that you don't have it together, think of me and be glad, that you at least have your SHOES on!!!!   :)

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who does things like that! I know - you can blame it all on lack of sleep, right? ;)
