When my 11yo finished her creative writing assignment, she wanted to read it to me. Trying to be a good hs mom, of course, I said, "sure," so she read me a little paragraph.
My 2yo was watching, and wanted to be in the middle of everything, of course. She asked me for a piece of paper, and a pencil, and proceeded to scribble all over it. She then said, "Mommy hear my story?"
This time, I was truly curious. What would her story be? "Sure," I responded.
She pointed to various parts of her paper, and solemnly declared, "one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, fourteen, fourteen, fourteen, fourteen!" She was very satisfied with little story! (I thought it was pretty cute!)
My sister, upon hearing this, responded that "only in your family" would numbers be considered a story! :) (You have to realize that my MOTHER-in-law has a masters degree in math, and was a computer programmer in the 1950's! She programmed rows of tubes, no less! FIL's degree was in EE, and dh has a double BS in math and physics. So, the math does run strongly in my kids' genes.)
