As Anne of Green Gables said "Tomorrow is fresh, with no mistakes in it." The last two days have been much better. I've tried to limit my time on the computer and my stresses (for now) have been left in God's hands. Hopefully, they will stay there.
Have you ever noticed, that when you are feeling horrible(stress or ill) the children seem to become more frustrating? I feel like they can "smell blood"! They know when I'm weak. Maybe that is why they are so well behaved right now ;-)
I've been thinking about History for my 6dd. We plan on doing the Veritas Press Bible/History program, but that doesn't start until 2nd grade. So we are thinking of reading for literature books that are within a certain time period and then working history in with that. Learning about the specific time period we are reading about and doing projects, field trips and study to help better understand it. Does anyone have ideas of books that might be appropriate for a 6yrold with an historical content or how we might include notebooking with it?
I feel that things are moving along and I am feeling prepared. I can't wait to start ordering stuff and working with my daughter.

Mar. 31, 2006 - history
I found your blog through another comment you made at "In Beauty and in Grace." My oldest dd is also 6. She'll be 7 in May. I have 4 children (2 ds and 2 dd.) We are planning to use Beautiful Feet (http://www.bfbooks.com/) Early American History for primary years next year. I love their approach to history. It's mostly through literature. And the activities and discussions are quite simple and very easy for younger children to understand. We also follow the Christian Classical Method (using Teaching the Trivium) but I love Charlotte Mason's principles. Oh, I am also using the "Teaching Character through Literature" also from BF right now.
How old is your other dd? My two girls are 6 and 3. I love the emphasis I have found on raising dds recently in the blogs.
God Bless,
Karen
