It has been such a long time since I last posted. I've been keeping busy with my dd6's lessons and just things in general.
We are on our 4th week of homeschooling and it still seems to be going well. My dd's attitude tends to still be good, although she struggles with diligence and focus. We are working on it though and some days are better than others.
I think our "Little House" history read alouds are great! We finished the "Big Woods" and now are on the "Prairie" one. It has been so fun and dd6 really seems to enjoy the books. We are learning so much.
My dd3 is also joining us for Bible and prayer and has become quite happy participating in it. She listens to the Bible reading and then sweetly tells me what she wants us to pray for and quietly joins in. It warms my heart. She also loves to join in when dd6 is doing her math things. I love to see her learning.
Yesterday was great! After we spent time with my grandfather in law, we followed my father in law up to the top of Skyline(a mountain area in the Bay Area) and saw one of the last Giant Sequoias in this area. This tree is called Methuselah and is estimated at 1800 years old. It was just beautiful. Apparently it was originally over 200 feet tall..250 or so. After a lightening strike it was shortened to about 180 feet. It was neat to look up and not be able to see the top of this ancient, glorious tree. I marvel at God's creation.
I hope you all have a wonderful week!
