My Little Women and Men at Home

I'm Still Here!

Posted in General

Wow!  I realize it has been quite some time since my last post.  Life has been busy, but I haven't had much to say.  Some days my mind is full of witty thoughts...and then other days I just have nothing!

Homeschooling update: We have finished our first "quarter" for the year!  I broke my yearly plans into quarters to better keep track of things.  It seems to work out well.  This next one will end just before the beginning of 2007.  Dd6 has done really well and I think we both are still satisfied.  I've had to adjust my ability to be flexible sometimes....and that is a good thing :-)  I was finding myself having a hard time just relaxing, but I think that is getting a bit better now.  Dd6's attitude has gotten better and we don't have too many headbutting sessions.  And I am learning to be more patient and gentle.  She seems to be keeping up with our lessons and I feel very satisfied.  Little dd4 enjoys joining us for Bible now(she had not been cooperative before) and participates in prayer time well.  She also likes to practice her "copywork" and likes to count.  I'm very excited!  I think I might gently include her with learning her letters and numbers after the baby has come....we will see :-)

My hubby is still plugging away at the Academy, however we wont be certain of graduation until he gets there.  It is hard to be certain about anything in this adventure, but we are just laying it all at God's feet and trusting in His providence!

I am about 25 weeks along in my pregnancy and things still seem to be going well.  Baby is getting more and more active and I enjoy those quiet times when I can feel the little kicks and rolls.  It is such an intimate beginning to the relationship and begins that road to bonding!  I had a breastfeeding class last night.  The funny thing is, I was the only one there that this isn't my 1st pregnancy.  It was a little embarrasing, but I just wanted to find a proper support system.  It sounds like this Kaiser facility has really embraced the importance of breastfeeding and that I should be able to get any help/support I need.  I didn't really learn anything new...but the connection for support was all I really wanted anyhow.

Well, I must be off to do lessons and get on with my grocery day!

Have a blessed day!

This is my place to come and chat about God, my family, my life, and my homeschool endeavors. I am happily married, with two beautiful "Little Women" and a new "Little Man". We've been homeschooling for a year and are using a Classical Christian perspective and some of Charlotte Mason's principles as well.

Homeschooling classically can be different! It can be less hurried in the younger years! It can be Christian and focused on His word!
