The Da Vinci Code

Posted in Random Ramblings

When I went to the Worldview Conference this weekend, I hear Kerby Anderson speak on a new movie coming out next year, The Da Vinci Code.  Directed by Ron Howard and staring Tom Hanks, the movie is based on the Best-Selling book by Dan Brown.

I've heard of the Da Vinci Code, but never really understood what all the hoopla was about. I haven't read the book (but I may after hearing Kerby Anderson.)  After I found out what it was about, I understood all the controversy.  I'm sure there will be even more controversy with the movie hitting theaters soon.  Now, the movie and the book may seen harmless enough, but it is sure to cause a great stir upon its release.  Although a FICTION book, many are taking the story to heart as the TRUTH.

Check out this article from Probe Ministries

I'll be interested to hear others thoughts on this book and the upcoming movie.

Worldview Conference

Posted in Daily Happenings

I had the priveledge of attending the Worldview Conference this weekend at our church.  What an awesome conference!  If you have the chance to attend this, please go!  We heard teaching from such noted speakers as Ken Ham, David Barton, Woodrow Kroll, Kerby Anderson, Dr. Erwin Lutzer and Brannon Howse.  We were also blessed by Al Denson and Larry Dalton who led us in praise & worship. And I laughed so hard until my sides hurt as the ministry of Steve Brogan.

I was looking at Ken Ham's blog today and came across this post on the conference.  See the picture?  (BTW. that is our chruch.) Click it.  Now look in the very top left hand corner.  See the person sitting in the balcony?  That is ME!  I'm famous!  My df, Annemarie, was sitting next to me, but you can't see her. (sorry, you could have been famous, too.)

I heard so much teaching this weekend, my head is still spinning.  I'm not sure that I even fully understood all the was said, but it has given me the desire to study more about it.  AiG and Worldview donated TONS of wonderful books, DVDs and other materials to our church library, so others will also have the ability to broaden their knowledge of Christian Worldview, as well as me!

Thankfully, for you, my df, Annemarie, attended.  Since she understands and writes so much better than I, be on the lookout on her blog for posts about this weekend's teaching.  If she doesn't do it soon, go and bombard her with comments until she does!  (LOVE YA! Annemarie!)
