WOW. I can't believe it has been that long since I've blogged. I am still here. I've been busy with holiday stuff, and I've been busy over at TOS's new blogging community, HomesteadBlogger. It is going to be a great community. If you haven't had a chance, check it out. I even have a blog over there: My Smoky Mtn. Homestead. So, stop by and say 'Hi' and read about our 'CHRISTmas Eve Tragedy.'
I hope everyone had a Merry CHRISTmas. We had a great CHRISTmas, but boy it was busy. My kids are VERY blessed. It looks like Toys 'R Us moved into our house. We have to clean out the old toys to make room for the new.
We had a great trip to Atlanta. DH and the girls went to the Andy Williams CHRISTmas Show. They had a great time, and dh was totally on cloud 10 after the show! LOL. He felt weird being surrounded by so many other Andy fans. I couldn't tease him about being the youngest one there, there were people there of all ages. DH says he still puts on a great show.
While we were in Atlanta, we stayed with Tracy's cousin, Tielke, and his lovely wife, Linda. We had such a good time! They took such good care of us. ( I just love that 'southern hospatility'.) Tielke got up and made us breakfast. He makes great pancakes! Tielke even took dh and the kids to the park while Linda and I went shopping! The girls had so much fun! Then Tielke was kind enough to take dh and the girls to the concert. Then we went and picked them up afterwards. We even got a tour through downtown Atlanta. It was pretty with the Christmas lights.
After the show, they took us to eat at 'the Varsity'. Talk about some good onion rings! We sat at school desks to eat, that was fun! We are planning to go back in the spring. We want to go to the brand new Atlanta Aquarium. The $200 million facility is the largest aquarium in the world. It looks really neat. Tielke tried to get us tickets, but they were sold out.
So , I guess that is about all that is going on here. Trying to get back in the swing of things after the holidays, and looking forward to the New Year. I have some new things in the works. I'll share more about that once I get it up and running.
Have a great day!

Merry CHRISTmas. Who would have ever thought that those words would cause so much controversy. CHRISTmas. Imagine, never being able to speak that word or the word CHRIST. It is a shame, but it seems the world we live in is heading in that direction.
I pray that we never take CHRIST out of CHRISTmas. That is the whole reason we celebrate this season. It isn't about presents, and lights, and stuff. In the hustle and bustle of this busy holiday, don't forget to stop and remember that first CHRISTmas more than 2000 years ago, when the meek and mild Mary gave birth to the Son of God, our blessed Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. Remember that night when God gave the ULTIMATE gift, the gift of salvation.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him will not perish, but have ever lasting life." John 3:16
If we don't take the time to remember the first CHRISTmas, then we are guilty of taking CHRIST out of CHRISTmas.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit My Smoky Mtn. Homeschool. I pray that your family has a very Merry CHRISTmas and Blessed New Year!

Here is what a recent student said about the Worldview Weekend Online Institute Course:
Great course. Thank you to all who made this course a possibility. I
used what I learned in this course to strengthen two of my friend's
beliefs. This course has made me ready to face the opposition in later
High-school years, collage, and the real world. Thanks again and may
you all wear crowns of glory in heaven for helping the youth of
America. God bless.
Why not take our course in 2006? Our students range in age from 11 to 72.

Ok, so why does my son eat cat food? It can't be because he is hungry, he just ate lunch. Surely it can't be because it tastes good. The smell of it on his breath makes me want to gag. So, why does my son eat cat food?
Why do children not listen when you say, DON'T, DO NOT, under any circumstance, throw the papers away that are in the van. There are important papers, with footprints, grease stains from French fries and spilled Coke on them, on the floor board. VERY IMPORTANT PAPERS!!! So why am I digging them out of the trash can? It makes me even madder that the trash can lid came down and hit me square on the head while I was diving in. OUCH! I heard that echo through the mountains. ::still rubbing my head:: I think I have a concussion. I'm glad the trash can is in the back of my house, so the neighbors didn't see me.
In the midst of all this, I am trying to get our bags packed to go to the Andy Williams concert. DH will be home in a few short hours, I still have to get the bags packed, and I don't want to tell you what I smell like. (I'm not sure if I could tell you exactly what I smell like, other than garbage.)
