A Big Welcome...

Posted in Random Ramblings

I was just browsing HSB's newest members and guess who I saw? Amy Pak from Homeschool In the Woods!  How exciting!!  We use her History Through the Ages timeline figures on CD.  We LOVE them.

So be sure to pop on over and give Amy a great big HSB welcome!

Would you please stop over to Adventure Acadamy's blog and encourage her to stay at HSB? She has experienced two deaths recently in their family and is discouraged. Let's join together and lift her and her family before the throne of God.

In Him,
Amy

I am sending out a "mass apology" to everyone I told about "The Clean Heart, Clean Home Challenge". I have received some comments in regard to leaving the button on people's blogs and I feel the best way to make sure there aren't others who are offended, is to apologize to those I sent the notice to.

I feel just horrible that some thought I was "advertising" in some way when my intention was to share with other homeschoolers what I was offering as encouragement and a way for us to join together.

If you are one who was upset by my post, please feel free to delete it and email me or leave a comment on my page and I will personally apologize. To those who have joined in The Challenge, I'm so looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us and hope we will all be able to bless our families and grow in the Lord through it! Thank you most importantly for seeing my heart. I never meant to disregard anyone's post when I left the comment about the Challenge, and want you all to know that anything you ever have to say to me, whether on topic or not, is more than welcome on my blog. I will also be making a new category on my blog that will list those of you who don't mind getting urgent prayer requests or information from time to time. I hope this way I will be able to avoid upsetting anyone similarly in the future.

Thanks for allowing me to comment on your blog. I hope you will accept my apology (and not be upset that I'm "off topic" from your post, but I have many people to get to still tonight).

In Him,
Amy Verlennich

Hi. I am one of the ones who dared speak out against the Pearls and your close association with them. I am also one who's blog was deleted because of my stance.

I recently read a blog about my experience and found this comment on it:
the web administration is deleting 'abandoned' blogs. This i probably the reason her blog was deleted. The abandoned blogs take up server space. We are deleting them to help HSB run faster and smoother.

So an abandoned blog is one that was posted on a day or two before? Or how about two hours before? How often does one have to post in order for it not to be thought abandoned?

The simple fact is, people know why you deleted my blog, and quite frankly they aren't happy with you about it. So you make up some cock and bull story about it's being abandoned.

When will you stand up and speak the truth? Personally I don't appreciate being lied about. Please post that you deleted my blog because I hold a belief different from yours. Don't tell people my blog was abandoned, because that simply is not true.

My blog was also deleted, without my permission and without giving me any notice that it would be deleted. My blog was active, I posted on it at least once or twice a week, and had posted on it (giving my views about the abusive child rearing practices endorsed by the Pearls and about the connection between HSB/Old Schoolhouse Mag and the Pearls) less then two hours before it was deleted. (yet my sister's HSB hasn't been used since 12/05 and is still there!!) I'm sure you personally didn't delete my blog... but it appears that those who dare to disagree with the Pearls are seen as a threat here at HSB and are gotten rid of as quickly and quietly as possible. The good news is there is a fair number of ex-HSBloggers over at Xanga... enjoying our new blogs! (and spreading the word about HSB)

for your comment. As i said in my post, it seems rather high-handed to immediately unsub bloggers who have posted regularly, but who had happened to address an issue of concern to many Christians/homeschoolers but which also happened to be (apparently) a hot button to the administration. In my family of HSB subscribers (2 daughters, and a sister), my blog was the most infrequently posted on, yet theirs were deleted without a by your leave. i stand by what i said earlier.

tdlurlay has NOT left comments on your blog, calling you "nasty names" (as you stated in your comment to her blog) and it's unfair of you to take your frustration about the whole HSB/No Greater Joy debacle out on her. The irony is that had HSBlogger not "evicted" myself and vgarr from HSB, AND deleted our blogs, you could have commented directly back to vgarr... (or myself)... rather than to tdlurlay who has been nothing but polite in her posts and comments.

I believe your beef is with me. I left the comment on your blog, not tdlurlay.

My blog had been recently updated, as had my aunt's blog, both had been updated within 2-36 hours of their being deleted.

You can find me at www.xanga.com/vgarr361

Quite frankly I do not believe the abandoned blog story.
