A few weeks ago I taught our Sunday school lesson. It was about when Isaac sent his servant to find a wife for Jacob. Isaac didn't want his servant to bring back just any woman. Jacob needed a special woman that would believe in the same God as him. Isaac knew how important Jacob's roll would be in leading future generations to God. So, Isaac gave his servant very specific instructions on the type of woman he should bring back as a wife for Jacob.
The servant went to the land his master told him to. He understood the importance of his mission. He knew that he could not do it alone. He knew that he needed help from above. So, he prayed a prayer. It was a simple prayer. Yet, it was an awesome prayer.
"...give me success this day." ~Genesis 24:12
Give me success this day. What more could you ask for? Give me success this day in my walk with you, in training my children, in being the wife you called me to be, in my witness for your, in everything I do, give me success.
I believe this should be a prayer we pray each day. It will lift us up, knowing that God will give us success, just as He gave Isaac's servant success.
God has given us very specific instructions for raising our children. I know that I can't do it alone. I need God's help. So I will ask for it, each and every day.
I invite you to make this a daily prayer, too.
