It is yet another rainy day here at my smoky mtn. home.
I am trying to keep a positive outlook knowing May flowers are just around the corner.

Of course, the flowers here bloomed months ago. The Bradford Pears, Forsyenthia and Dogwoods have already turned green. Our other plants are benefiting from the rain though. The Hostas seem to get bigger overnight.
I am ready for the return of warm weather. We have just had Dogwood Winter. Which is cruel after having been teased with warm, Summerlike temperatures.

Today I read this verse:
“...I will send down the rain in its season, rains that bring blessing. The trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the land shall yield its produce. “(Ezek. 34:26-27)
I was thinking today, as I was watching it rain, are there times in your life when you get into a rut and don't even realize it? Are there times in your life when you aren't bearing fruit? Do you always say the same prayer each night as you fall asleep? Do you always praise God the same way?
Isn't it wonderful when God sends the rains in their proper seasons? He knows just what you need and when you need it. He is never late. He is always right on time. Sometimes He chooses to remain silent, other times He chooses to speak to us in a powerful way. He reminds us that He is waiting for us to spend time with Him. Waiting to rain down blessings upon us.
God can speak to us through a gentle nudging in our Spirit, or through a spring rain, or through the soft breaths of your sleeping child. Perhaps He will speak to you through a magnificent sunset.
God is so awesome! He loves us, even when we fail. Even when we aren't faithful, God is always faithful. How awesome, when we need Him, all we have to do is whisper His name and He will be there.
So, the next time you are in a rut and need inspiration, just look for the rain and know the May flowers are just around the corner.
