Never in my life...
Posted in Random Ramblings
...have
I seen anything like I saw today. I was at my mom and dad's
house this afternoon when it started storming. After it passed
over, were were sitting on the back deck watching it rain. It was
still lightening off in the distance, and we were enjoying the
show. Then, the lightening got closer, and we ran for cover just
as the wind picked up we heard this banging on the roof. It was
hail!
I've
never seen it hail like that before, and we were all quite
scared. We thought a tornado was coming an took cover. The
storm passed over in a matter of minutes, and the sun was
shining. Afterwards look what we found on the back deck.

We had a nice storm yesterday and today. We got a lot of rain (which we really need). I was working down at the neighbors and we were working out side when it hit, so we ran in the barn/shop for cover. The wind was blowing and the rain came down in sheets. He said "It can keep doing this for a half hour more!" I was like "hey sure since we get to sit in the barn drinking coke and wait it out (I get paid by the hour LOL). Anyway, he has the ground in front of his barn all paved (mind you, he's a rich guy who owns his own construction business) and it was like a river flowing by. It was cool.
BTW, I haven't seen you arround the forums much. Your missed =]

We had something similar this past winter, but only smaller pieces. It actually looked like it had snowed. Our boys liked it better than snow, though. They could sled on it better. :-) So glad no one was hurt or anything damaged!

That is impressive. We haven't had any rain in weeks and we need it so bad in central FLA. I don't want any hail though. LOL thank goodness there wasn't any damage.

O Amy, so glad no one was hurt. Hail and tornadoes usually come in the same package.
Nice pictures!

we had some hail at our house but not even close to that amount!!! It's amazing how quickly the weather can change. We're guilty of watching it lightning too. When I lived in AZ, we would get some incredible shows!!!
See ya..

We did not get any hail, but I'll tell you....that storm was something else. Thunder was cracking LOUD over the lake, lightening was everywhere. I love Tennessee!

This is a curse word where I come from. It's because of the dialect that we all speak with. Oh hail! We get the stuff from the sky too. Pretty impressive!

I'm begging. I'm having so much trouble with pictures and changing my avatar and all kids of stuff. I couldn't find a link to e-mail you so I wouldn't have to post this on your blog (it was probably right in front of my, right?) Anyhow, I need help and I was told you are the person to ask. I've read the FAQs on my manager page, and gone through the forums, which mention problems changing avatars but doesn't actually say how to fix the problem! Thanks in advance, HouseMouse

Wow! We had a storm like that pass through here a few years back and it broke windows, sky lights, dented cars and windshields! My mother-in-law had to have her roof and skylights replaced! I'm so glad your storm wasn't that bad. Thanks for the pictures. Love to see pictures!

We had that hail, too, but not that much. They said it was even bigger out at the lake. Golf ball size, I think. What is so weird is that we used to have bad storms every spring, but the last 3 or 4 years we haven't had any. All of a sudden this year they are back. Those Kentuckians keep sending them. : ) The worst ones we've had lately have come down from Kentucky.

I'm very glad you were safe. My husband will be very jealous when I show him your photos. He loves a good thunderstorm! We lived near Cincinnati, Ohio for a few years and he hated it when we had to move back to California. He loved the storms back there. We never had to deal with a tornado thankfully. He would have loved seeing this storm. I always tease him about missing his calling as a Storm Chaser!
God bless you all,
Julia

I hadn't seen it like that until moving to Colorado Springs, where that size or larger is common. Glad you are all OK.
