Sometimes, in life, we only look at things from one particular point of view. For example, today I was trying to take a picture of this tree beside the river. It reminded me of Psalm 1:3, He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water.

Do you see the problem? That old, dead tree was in the way. I tried to adjust the lens and move the camera this way and that to cut that ugly tree out, but I just couldn't get the picture I wanted.
I cried out, "God, why did you have to put that ugly tree there? If only that tree wasn't there, I'd have the perfect shot!"
Suddenly, God spoke to me. "Amy, move over here beside the tree."
I moved over beside the tree.

What a view! It was much better than the view I was trying to get.
It is like that in life. Sometimes we have things in our sight that we don't like. We cry out and ask God, "Why did you put that there? Take it away." We ask Him to take it away. It might be that God is calling us closer to Him. He wants us to move to what He has in sight for us, because He has something better in store, something we can't see from our point of view. The view really is much better over there next to the tree.
So, the next time you feel like singing, "We Shall Not Be Moved", think of changing your tune to, "I Will Follow Him."
