Igniting Your Writing!
| Multi-level
writing curriculum offers 24 lessons covering 6 areas of writing skills
needed for any kind of writing. Each lesson has 3 levels: Startup, Intermediate, and Advanced. Choose the level based on the students writing ability rather than age or grade. Startup level works well with reluctant and unwilling writers
and with beginning writers. Lighthearted assignments are clearly
defined so the student knows exactly what to do and how to do it. The
student feels immediate success, which builds writing confidence. Intermediate and Advanced levels will inspire higher levels writers. Go through Igniting Your Writing! with one student several times at increasingly higher levels, or use for more than one student at a time. Teachers Guide is included with each lesson linked to its corresponding Teachers Guide page.

You were supposed to teach me to crochet this summer. Summer? What summer? I haven't stopped long enough to ask. I actually haven't stopped long enough to remember it until last week. How does your fall look? : )

The Targets I went to was the one by the West Town Mall and Turkey Creek. Tehy all have different sales - it's crazy! I am doing well. We're getting excited. Registration night is being set for August 17th - last I heard. An e-mail will be going out soon to confirm.
Have wonderful weekend!

I read your blog about homeschoolestore and the "igniting your writing"... very good tips, I think. Please advise me... I am not currently a homeschool mom although I very much want to be. My son has been diagnosed with ADHD (which I tend to think is a catch-all diagnosis for everything), but the fact is, it is hard for him to concentrate on school work. He does not like to read (who IS this kid?) and I have a very tough time getting him to be self-motivated which I am thinking might be important for home schooling. #1, I work... 3 days a week, but on those days, he would have to do lessons that I set out for him without question, on his own, with me going over it when I get home. My husband is against the whole idea saying he will not get a good education if I teach him (well, I am a college grad and so is my husband, so we are not stupid people... my comment to him). #2, I think I am a better "judger" of what is best for my child. I am not happy with public school. I have had meeting after meeting with his "counselors" and "advisers" and they don't listen or don't do what I ask. Michael has the hand-writing of a first-grader... he can't "remember" how to make all the cursive letters... (I think he's dyslexic, but what do I know?) He can't spell... even simple words... I have asked over and over for them to work on phonics with him... no go. He is now ready to enter the 7th grade and although he is exceptionally smart (above average IQ), he is not functioning in the public school system. Please give me some heart felt advice... I will listen.
