Oh, be careful little eyes what you see...

Posted in My Soapbox

I came across this today on the Evangelical Underground Website. I remember hearing about the book, King and King last year when a 1st grader in North Carolina brought home the book from his school library.

Warning:  getting up on my soapbox...

This is a reminder (as if we need one) that we have to be so careful with everything our children read and watch on TV.  Something as innocent as a colorful children's book or cartoon could be teaching our children that we must have a tolerance for lifestyles that is not pleasing to God.

I've heard that the public schools will begin teaching alternative lifestyles in Kindergarten.  KINDERGARTEN!!!  How many parents pay attention to what their children read?  How many parents pay attention to what their children are learning in school?  By the time the parents find out about it, the seed of decipt will have already been planted.

We must pray for the teachers that will be forced to teach this.  That they will speak out against it.  We must pray for the children who will be exposed to this, and that their parents will be careful of what their children are reading, and they will rebuke this lifestyle and speak the truth.

We must teach 'love', not 'tolerance'. (But that is a whole other post).

Feel free to stand on your soapbox for as long as you want and as often as you want!

Things like that make me feel so hopeless sometimes...like we're always fighting a battle...uphill... *sigh* I am so thankful that I don't have to rely on my own strength, but GOD'S strength!

Girl! get back up there and preach it! Amen!
It is scary what they want to slowly integrate into our children's minds and spirits. And we wonder why our nation is in trouble?

I get on my soapbox a lot - so I am inclined to listen when others feel passionately about something. It is sad to me that our children are indoctrinated so early - and this in itself is a huge issue driving many Christian families to consider homeschooling their children. I have different issues, and truthfully with teenagers you want them to understand some of what is in the world - so they know how to come against it with the word of God. When they are small there are some things they just don't need to know about. Parenting is not for cowards - and we have to constantly be on our guard - because Satan prowls around like a hungry lion seeking to devour our kids!
