Today was special because my youngest 2 children were baptized this morning during church service. Both had made professions of faith a while ago, but only recently expressed the desire to follow that with believer's baptism. Even though this is finals week, Alex came home from college last night just so he could be there at church this morning. I am very blessed that my husband and all 5 of my children are fellow believers, and we know that we'll spend eternity together in heaven after our days on this earth come to an end.
After church, I got my Christmas boxes down from the attic and started putting up my decorations. Mark got the tree set up ( we always have a real tree; I just can't bring myself to buy an artificial one!) and the kids and I decorated it this evening after they got home from Awanas. We had to move the tree to a different spot this year, because our new sectional sofa is in the corner where we have had the tree for the last 11 years!! So it is taking some getting used to...
We are Duke basketball fans. Mark and Jason were watching the game against Virginia Tech on tv. They called the rest of us into the room for the end of the game. Duke really wasn't playing that well, and V.T. was , and it looked like Duke was going to lose the first ACC game of the season.... and then, with 1 second left, Sean Dockery launched a shot from nearly half court and ... SWISH !! All 6 of us leaped out of our seats, shouting in disbelief and amazement. Poor Virginia Tech. Their faces showed that they were just crushed. But what an amazing way to win for the Blue Devils. Whoo Hoo!
