'I cannot tell what you say, green leaves,
I cannot tell what you say;
But I know that there is a spirit in you,
And a word in you this day.
I cannot tell what you say, brown streams,
I cannot tell what you say;
But I know that in you too a spirit both doth live,
And a word doth speak this day.
'Oh green is the color of faith and truth,
And rose the color of love and youth
And brown of the fruitful day.
Sweet Earth is faithful and fruitful and young,
And her bridal day shall come ere long,
And you shall know what the rivers and the streams
And the whispering woodlands say.'
I came via the Fish and Frog Blog. It's nice that you are incorporating nature into your home schooling. And it's nice that you have bird feeders up as I do too and blog about them on my blog. I am a retired special education teacher.

That Tiger Lily is beautiful! My grandmother used to grow those outside her bedroom window, When we woke up in the morning, we would look out the window and say "Good morning God, this is your day, I am your child show me your way..." Lovely memories! Thanks for sharing!
