We did this the first full week of June. I am looking at your pics and I am so glad we are done! We did a cabin/lodge scene for the front of our sanctuary. Above the scene was the window to the upper level baptistry. I found some beautiful rainbow colored material that was irridescent and see through. Then we hung black landscapers material behind it in the window. We pointed a spot light on black material and punched holes in it to create a stars in the sky effect. Then we added fans to make the material move and shimmer. That was as close as we could get to the northern lights! I don't know if anyone took a digital picture of it. I will try to load it on my sight when we get back to FL if anyone did. I was too busy leading the music to do it. I love your ice bergs. I tried to use large boxes cut like peaked mountains. Then I stapled crumpled paper to the boxes and taped white trash bags (I cut off the ties) over the paper to create the mountain effect. It probably would have looked better if the trash bags would have stayed up! My poor hubby was the missions teacher. He will probably do his own decorating next year! :) One teacher took the window in her room and covered it with a box and cut out a hole to place a bear's head through. She painted the logo on the cardboard around the bear's head. It was very cute. The kids (1st/2nd graders) could touch it. They all had their picture taken by it.
