Hospital Report

Posted in PTT

Sydney did great and somehow got 3 new teddy bears out of the deal LOL. Reed gave her one to take to the hospital, a male nurse in the pre-op dept gave her a bear with the hospital name on it, and the lady that registered her yesterday came to the post-op room and gave her a purple bear with a Barbie balloon. She racked up LOL.

I felt so blessed today.  Do you see what having God in your life-- in every minute and every detail of your life--can do?  Your 4 year old has surgery on her arm and you feel blessed.
  • Because my mom took off work to keep my other 3 kids and the 2 that I babysit.
  • Because our senior pastor was there to pray with her, even though the associate pastor-- her dad-- was right there.
  • Because what we thought would be thousands of dollars of medical debt is covered by the church's liability policy.
  • Because my friend the anesthesiologist (who has 3 kids) was so great with her.  He explained everything by putting a mask on her teddy bear and making him go to sleep.
  • Because my friend the nurse saw that as soon as they wheeled her down the hall, my calm courageous facade crumbled.  And she stayed with me and talked about childbirth and tonsils and homecoming.
  • Because my 8 year secretly loves her sister and worried about her all day.
  • Because my 11 year old fixed everyone breakfast while I was gone.
  • Because the 8 and 11 year old managed to do the little bit of schoolwork I left for them without complaining.
  • Because my 4 year old is incredibly brave and she trusts us so much that she went peacefully into the OR without a moment's hesitation.
  • Because she is so charming that everyone championed her in the hospital, and even the lady that registered her yesterday came to see her and brought her a present.
  • Because she shared her new purple teddy bear with her little sister Macy when she got home-- even though she really didn't want to.  She wanted to put him on the shelf and admire him and protect him.
  • Because she shared her other new teddy with her friend Haley.
Those last few qualify her for the Pass the Torch award in my book :)

What a GREAT list. You're right to list those amazing blessings. When you add them all up like that....GOD truly was in the midst, huh? I've been doing the mental list thing about my crazy life this past month. God is alive and real and powerful.

Great pictures of your brave little gal. She's so adoreable.

Beautiful post! What a fantastic list and so many of your blessings are Pass the Torch-worthy! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I'm glad the surgery day is over.

And your comment about the ping made me laugh! So funny! There's a lot I don't know too! For some blogging platforms, when you link to a specific post on a different blog, your link will show up in comments. It doesn't work for all blogs though.

I'm going to add your permalink to your comment so my readers can find this post no matter which day they click through. This was really great!
