Thursday Thirteen #8

In honor of Sydney's 5th birthday I give you "13 things about Sydney"

1. She is our #3-- the "oh-my-goodness-now-they-outnumber-us" baby.
2. She reads extrememly well, which astounds me. It one of those cases where she just cracked the code, as opposed to us finishing a particular phonics program. We are using My Father's World, and she learned all of her letter sounds from the song, and then suddenly she could read.
3. She was a gymnast even before she was born. She was breech, so they scheduled a c-section. Seconds before they were to wheel me into the OR, she flipped. (I heard it on the monitor.) Since I was there and hooked up, they tried to induce, but she wasn't low enough. I went back the next week, and she was in place, so they scheduled another induction. But when I got there that morning, she was breech again. So I had a c-section that day.
4. She loves doing plays like her big sister. Although she slept through her first two years in the Christmas play.
5. Her cast has not slowed her down at all. She can play computer games with her left hand, and she manages to do her school work left-handed (although we did decide to forego handwriting for now LOL).
6. She wants to be a piano teacher when she grows up (even though she hasn't had any piano lessons ever).
7. She is a deep theologian.
8. Her best friend is the daughter of my best friend since high school.
9. She thinks she knows Latin because she hears the "big kids" doing their lessons.
10. She is a shutterbug like her mama. She loves to take interesting pictures with my camera phone. (One of her birthday presents is one of those Polaroid cameras that makes the little stickers. If ound some of the film on ebay.)
11. She had a few nightmares in a short period of time and so now she prays that God will give her happy, silly dreams about trains full of candy.
12. Her nickname is Noodle.
13. She has started calling herself Yendys, which is Sydney spelled backwards.

Your third baby? Now you won't be able to play man-on-man, but will have to switch to a zone defense. :-)

What a beautiful little girl! My twins just turned 5 in September they were # 2 and # 3 for us. Each birthday brings such new seasons for our family. I just love watching them grow and change. I also want them to be little again too sometimes: ) Hope you have a nice birthday with her.
