Works for Me Wednesday-- Saving Paper towels

Posted in WFMW

With 4 kids of my own and 2 that I babysit, we make alot of messes.  Especially since we are all home all day.  I should have bought stock in Bounty long ago, but I finally got tired of shelling out all that money for something that gets thrown away.  So I went to Sam's and bought these:

I have a special bucket they go in when they are used, but I think a diaper pail would work nicely.  Then I wash them with bleach and put them in a drawer in the dining room.

I recommend running out of paper towels to get your family used to using these.  Otherwise it is hard to break the Bounty habit LOL.

I've never noticed these at SAM's, I'll have to look!
I did make the switch from paper napkins to cloth napkins. It did take some getting used to but I think everyone is used to them now.

Thanks for sharing your tip!

I, too, should've bought stock in Bounty!!

I am wondering.... Isn't it just as much work to use these reusable paper towels as it is to use towel-towels? Or?? What do you think??

Thanks for sharing!

Yes it is just as much work-- they are dish towel size and they are cloth not paper.

I just like them because they are white and therefore bleachable and they were cheap.

You could use anything-- dish towels, or whatever.

Great idea! My mom taught me to not like using up paper towels. I've gone to cloth napkins and usually just use washrags for paper towels...but...my husband could pbly buy the fact that these are more like paper towels than washrags. He loves paper towels....I just always forget to buy them and they disappear so fast!
