History Notes

Posted in Mystery of History

We have begun Mystery of History 2, which the kids seem genuinely excited about.  We all enjoyed it last year and are looking forward to more of the same.

In studying Paul, one of the assignments was to think of someone who, like Saul, is an enemy of God.  We chose Christopher Hitchens, who wrote the book, god is not Great. (capitalization his)

So the assignment was to pray for the person you chose.  Our prayer is that Christopher Hitchens will somehow see that God is great.  My son remarked what a powerful testimony it would be if he converted as Paul did.

your son brought up an excellent point. People who are in the spotlight can make awesome testimonies.

(in a People magazine article a few months ago it showed Matthew McConaghey reading a book while riding his ex. bike. It was The Case for Christ I stopped everything and prayed for him. What an awesome thing that someone cared enough about him as a human with a soul, not just as a movie star...to give him such a great book.)

and don't get hung up on the fact that I read it in People magazine.

bad vice of mine I know!

Hi! This is Christy from www.trainingheartsathome.blogspot.com. I just wanted to drop in and say thank you for telling me your thoughts on History of the World vs. Mystery of History. I have that, and we read the first few lessons, but then I quit. Now you've got me rethinking it. LOL! Oh well...

I have really enjoyed sitting here reading through your blog. I've read every entry here on the first page and have enjoyed each one very much.

I'll be visiting again soon!

What an excellent point - they need Christ, too!

In all the recent excitement over Britney Spears and her ever-worsening spiral into ruin, my heart breaks for this girl! Does no one care?
