Why home's cool
I have written before about  why we started homeschooling.  But every now and then I see new reasons that we homeschool, even if i wasn't foresighted enough to see them when we started.

For example, our church is producing a play for our community and we are all heavily involved in it.  It is written by our pastor and the cast is largely comprised of members of our church-- with some community theatre veterans filling out the cast, as well as extras from here and there.

Our first performance is September 22-- that is the BIG ONE-- the one in the local park that we are hoping the people in our church neighborbood will attend.  So one day this week, we took a school day to work on set design.  We painted these 2 ft candle holders made of wax and made them look like pottery for the women at the well.  They loved it and the results were really really good.  Here's a blurry camera phone picture of some of them:

We also made a barley field and helped  paper mache a well.  Some days we do the 3 R's and other days-- Set Design 101.  And that is a great reason to homeschool!

I think of reasons why I'm glad we homeschool almost every day....it's just a huge blessing in our lives, and obviously yours too :)

Take care,

That's awesome! I'm directing our homeschool play right now. It's a lot of fun and the kids love it!
