My twenty cents keeps moving!

Theater in the Park
Saturday is the day that our church presents the play in the park for our community. It is called The Family Redeemer, and is based on the Old Testament book of Ruth.   We had a dress rehearsal Tuesday night for our church people, and then tonight we had a dress at the park.  Poor Jason had to reblock practically everything because of set changes necessitated by wind issues, but all in all I thought it went really well.  Tuesday night was really really good, and the people really seemed to love it.  We have been unbelievably busy preparing for this event, and it is hard to believe it is almost here!

If you have a minute to pray for us, here are some specific requests we have:

  • Pray for the weather-- an outdoor event is such a gamble, but we really felt God calling us to this, so we are trusting in Him, since we know that the even the winds and the waves obey Him.
  • Pray for our cast and crew for health and safety-- there is a stomach virus going around and a few people in our cast have already had it.  We trust in the Great Physician who is sovereign over all things.
  • Pray for those in the cast who are new to drama-- they tend to be the most nervous and have the least experience thinking on their feet when lines are skipped or flubbed.
  • Pray for the non-Christians in our cast and crew-- we do have a few.
  • Pray for the woman from the city government who took down our yard signs promoting the event.  I believe God can use this in her life to His Glory.
  • Pray for the children of the cast who have medical issues.  I feel like Satan is opposing us on every front he can, including the children of key people in our cast.
  • Pray for those who will coe to the event on Saturday.  I am praying that God will draw them to Himself and show them that there is a Redeemer..
Here are some pictures without most of our set, but you can at least get a sense of what was going on.

This looks great! I sure wish I could come! Praying for you all! Thanks for sharing the pics.

I also enjoyed your story about SS numbers! I so agree that it is not really about numbers but about letting God lead us to serve those He brings to us!
I am teaching a new class of only 1 and it is wonderful! Maybe God will bring more if I am faithful or maybe I am only to "feed" this one lady!
All for Him! Eva
