Help for a Homeschooling Family

Please take a moment to read this page about a benefit for a homeschooling family in need. As Canadians, we often take for granted the blessings we have here in universal healthcare. Please also take a moment to read the family's blog, as it will give more of an insight to what this family is experiencing.

Thanks,

Jennifer

HELP!!!!!!

I am shamelessly begging for your help. You can't hear me, but I'm whining. Took a lesson from my 4 year old (who whined ALL DAY-YYYYYYYYY today).

I really need some contributers. Preferably from somewhere besides Moncton (just because that's where I am), but if you're francophone, I'll take you no matter where you're from. I need contributions in the way of posts about homeschooling stuff where you are, both in French and English, and I'd like to be able to make all the sidebar titles bilingual, but alas, I'm painfully anglo. And I don't feel like going to a translation site-- they're never 100% right. So COME ON..... give me a hand???? Please???? Pretty please?????

Thanks.

:: Just a reminder ::

I don't have a lot of contacts or information yet on homeschooling happenings in NB, so PLEASE!!!! Contact me with your info!!!!

Also, if you have information to share which is relavent to Canadian homeschoolers in general, I would welcome that as well.

***conventions/ conferences

***mailing lists

***support group information/ activities

***legal notices

***anecdotes

... and anything else I've left out!

Please keep in mind that your local New Brunswick homeschooling support group is eligible for some free copies of TOS magazine! But I have to know you exist!

And introducing....

ME!

I would be Jennifer. We've been homeschooling for nine years, all but six months of it here in New Brunswick. Married to a wonderful loving guy, going on 14 years (of marriage, not his age   ). We have five kids... g13, g12, b10, g6, and g4. Grade levels, in the same order, are 8, 6, 4, and 1. The little one thinks she's in kindergarten and I don't plan on bursting her bubble! We also have one very geriatric, arthritic, toothless, bulimic cat. Aren't hairballs wonderful?

I'm hoping to pull together a variety of homeschooling helps for New Brunswickers. This is where you come in-- I need contributers.  If you are a homeschooler here in NB, e-mail me about any happenings where you are, and any information you have that might be useful to other homeschoolers, and I'll be sure to post it (giving you credit, of course). You can also submit your  local support group information here for inclusion on the TOS state/ province page.

In time, there will be links to useful Canadian sites-- curriculum suppliers, support groups, discussion forums, field trip ideas, and whatever else our contributers can come up with.

If you are from NB, and have a blog here, let me know so I can put you down under Friends. If you don't have a blog here, why not get one? It's a great community full of interesting people (like me!!! lol).

Let's work together and help each other out!
