Starting anew in New Hampshire

Hi Everyone,

This is the perfect time of year to start this for me.  I simply adore the fall.  As a matter of fact, I think they should just rename 'fall' and 'autumn' to 'eye candy'.  This is especially so in New Hampshire.  I would like to introduce myself to you all.  I will be filling you in on the who, what, where, when and why's of Homeschool happenings here in New Hampshire.

My name is Peggie.  My husband David and I have 3 'growing faster than the speed of light' boys who love the Lord, sports and learning new things.  Our oldest Randy is 15.  He has recently put together a Wiffle ball tournament fundraiser for his youth group at the church we attend, basically all by himself.  He likes to be an advocate for humanitarian causes.  He loves to hear and share view points on hot topic issues.  Randy wants to take electrician courses now and have his Masters Electricians license in 2 years.  He also hopes to be a professional sports photographer.  Jason is 12; he loves to play sports, read and is constantly discovering deeper levels of his creative side.  He took a Homeschool creative writing course last year through a HS group in our area.  He LOVED it!  He aspires to be a sports writer for a major newspaper one day and wants to learn guitar.  Tommy, our youngest, is 6.  He is full of life, energy and questions.  He loves to play with Lego's and Playdoh.  He loves to learn from his V-Smile games and playing the keyboard.  He Loves AWANA and anything else that has to do with God and people.  All 3 boys have a love for photography (like their mom and dad).  They all attend Sunday school and AWANA as well as the older two attending youth group weekly.

As for myself, I love to write, take pictures (especially photos that can capture God's glorious natural creations) although I am still quite the amateur and read The Old Schoolhouse Magazine.  I love the visual splendor of New Hampshire and the basic friendly, 'everyone's a neighbor' attitude that we constantly encounter in the people here.  We have been Homeschooling since Randy was 5.  Randy and Jason did attend school for a few years but we are grateful everyday that that is no longer the case.  Homeschooling is the greatest blessing for me and also the one thing in my life that creates the most self doubt.  I have changed our learning system a little almost every year.  This year, we have added Saxon Math for Randy and Jason.  It is really working out well for us.  We always flounder in the Science department.  We are doing a lot of experiments this year.  Our main focus is going to be on the weather and the hardest thing about that is gearing it appropriately towards all 3 ages.  The remaining subjects are a "potluck" of what we have, what we borrow and what suits each child the best.  Except for history, we are studying biblical history deeply this year as well as studying the electoral process in America.  I look forward to keeping you up to date on all the wonderful events, programs, etc. that happen in the state of New Hampshire.  Please contact me if you have any questions or info!!  All local support groups can submit information to me by email: myhomeboyz3@yahoo.com.  Happy leaf peeping!!

Talk to you soon,

~Peggie
