Public-schooled brother of homeschooled siblings
• Jan. 22, 2009 - Friend to foe
I haven't been posting on my blog for a while. I've been preocupied for some time. Most of which is because of a few girls I've met online from Olds through Facebook. I posted a compliment on this one girl's board, which didn't go over well. I ended up deleting her from my friends of facebook
Before I did delete her and her friend, I was inspired to write two poems. I won't put up the second because of fowl language in which added an extra umpf. But I'll post the first.
“Friend to foe” By GE Moore (AKA Nexhuntr)
Blue to Red
Violet to gray
Many have come but few pray
Answers are few
Questions of many
What you are missing is a penny
Judge is shame
None will seek
Spoiled words seem sleek
Oil to fire
Burn to dust
My anger does not rust
Knowledge is power
Uncanny and true
My blue eyes don’t lie to you
Hot to cold
Frost to heart
Love will never pull me apart
Game to mind
Games to play
I’m just going to stay away
Infinity to begin
Chance to fate
If you haven’t learned yet, it’s too late
Read to end
Start to finish
I’m not white as snow, I have a blemish
Human am I
Error to you
I haven’t met, or seen you
True am I
Coffee to drink
You obviously think I’m still a dink
Love for God
Evil in mind
You may be smart, but your heart is blind
End is near
Wish came true
Deletion is eminent and that’s just for you
Friend to foe
No apology fly
That’s all, that’s it, Good bye.

• Dec. 5, 2008 - Cupcake Day
Yup today is cupcake day. December 5
You may not understand why but let me explain. It's an old family tradition, well for my family. It's about sixteen years old, and we haven't ever stopped the tradition yet. You'd think that we don't need another celibrational day right around with christmas. But we do, just our family. You're more than welcome to join in on it too.
It's actually a celibration of a birth, and no not our side of a story about the true date of Jesus either. But our brother Daniel. He'll be seventeen years old today. Well... I guess you don't know. He would be seventeen. He died January 15, a little over a month old.
For my parents, it changed them. A parent shouldn't ever burry a child. But it happend to them, and it could happen to anyone. David, was too young to fully remember Daniel. But Meghan and I were old enough to remember him. We cherish the memories of those so few days as if it were more than gold. And it left us with a splinter of emotions upon our heart that hurts when brushed the wrong way.
"How did he die?" You may ask. It happened suddenly, without warning. That was it, he just died without reason or cause.
I can still see his face, like it was yesterday. His eyes, and his smile that would bring a smile to anyone. I can remember holding him, and the smell of his cloths. Poop... no not that, the smell like a fabric softener that my mom has never bought again. Memories so vivid, so real I sometimes believe all I have to do is just reach out and hold him again. Oh God help me to finish this... |

• Nov. 10, 2008 - Exhausted
| Yes, I'm tired, sore and exhausted. And if you're reading this, you're probably thinking, if you're exhausted, sore and tired why are you posting? Well came back after a good long hike up the road from us, into a field, and up a hill, ok a few hills. And my Dad shot 3 Deer. And so I'm exhausted, sore and tired from gutting, dragging and pulling these three deer back to the house. Yah I had help, but I'm sore, tired and exhausted. SO that's my short post, goodnight |

• Nov. 7, 2008 - 2nd Blog
So here I am, writing my second blog... hm... I don't really know what's there to really talk about at this point. I had such a grand entrance that I spoke pretty much everything there really was to say just at the start. Kinda like what it's like when you've shot your deer, you've found the deer, and you've taken all the pictures. The thrill and rush of the excitement of shooting your deer is all gone cuz well... now the work begins.
It's kinda like my homeschooling mom. She gets this new book for homeschooling. And she's just as thrilled as the kids. Then well, the work begins, and the thrill is gone. Must be why she's always looking for new material, she want's that thrill over and over. Honestly it drives me nuts, I haven't counted how many books we have that just sit on the shelf that are never read. |

• Nov. 6, 2008 - First blog
Yah... welcome to my blog.. whomever actually wants to read it. I heard about this place from my mom, and a brother and sister. They blog on here too, and my Dad actually has started to blog, and now me.
so this is my first entry, this is also the first entry I have ever made on a blog. This may be long and boring only because most of you don't know me. Some don't care. That's fine there's always that little X at the top of the page to click me off, and you won't have to read anymore. To which I like, you can choose wether or not you want to read what I'm typing, just as much as I can choose if I want to read yours, or even your comments on my blog. So. (que evil laugh)
Yes... you don't know me so introductions. Hi! My name is George. I live in The-Middle-of-NOWHERE Alberta right next to Damn'-it's-FREEZING-outside Alberta. I do Refrigeration, Air-conditioning, as well as Heating, it's a family trade, family business. My neiche is that I'm the only fourth generation HVAC mechanic in Canada. That is until one of my two other brothers get into it, or one of my cousins. I love God, and all of his creations, with the acception of cats and mosquito's. I like the outdoors, hunting, camping, horseback riding, and women. Can you tell I'm a guy? That's me in a nutshell...
Furthermore, I'm sure you all, ha... ha... Saying this as if I expect that someone is actually reading my blog. And if you are... (que evil laugh) world domination one person at a time. Anyways, you're probably wondering how do I go along with this blogging site. Well... now you're going to have to strain your eyes and read more of my boring text, so that it all makes sense.
I've been through public school. From Junior Kindergarden, right through grade 12. I've gone to a Christian school for grade 5. And I've sampled teaching and criculum more than 14 schools across the country of Canada. When I was in grade 4 my mom despised the school and wanted to homeschool me, but failed to do so, until long after I was out of school. Oh yah, forgot to mention I've got two other brothers and two other sisters, all younger than me.
Anyways, so, Heather, Noah, and David also got to sample a few years of Public school, until mom and Dad pulled them out of school and decided to homeschool them. A few years later, and now I'm well versed in many of the homeschooling criculums. And now that I've seen the differences, I truely believe that Homeschooling can give students the best education. However, I firmly believe that Public school provides the best experience to prepare a student for the world.
So... that's my first entry, my bottom lines and views that can indeed change, with reason and enough proof. |
